Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher

Do you have a passion for helping children and families develop and reach their goals? Do you have experience delivering high-quality early childhood education and leading a classroom?

Community Action Early Head Start is looking for a caring Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher to join our team! This classroom leadership position will develop a comprehensive education program to support the social-emotional and developmental needs of our children for one of our infant or toddler classrooms in our Early Head Start Program.

We are looking for someone that loves working with young children and is passionate about providing all the resources necessary to positively impact the development of children. Our team members have the unique opportunity to support children and families from at-risk backgrounds reach their goals and achieve success.

Starting Pay: $22.62 - 27.56/hour based on qualifications.

The Role:

  • Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate education program for children ages 6 weeks to 3 years that will enhance the social-emotional, physical, language, and cognitive development of each child.
  • Observe, assess and document each child’s health, skills, behavior, growth and development.
  • Develop effective partnerships with parents/caregivers by regularly sharing information and encouraging parent/caregiver input into all aspects of the educational program.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision of classroom staff, including Associate Teachers and Teaching Assistants.
  • Develop individualized goals and educational plans for each child.
  • Foster positive relationships with all children in the classroom.
  • Provide training and mentoring to staff.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an Infant Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) or an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
  • At least one year of experience working with young children and their families in a child care or related setting required.
  • Strong verbal and written proficiencies of the English language and communication skills required.
  • Sensitivity to the experiences, needs, and strengths of low-income and diverse populations, and individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to take initiative to continually improve service.
  • Knowledge of curriculum, principles and best practices of early childhood education.
  • Ability to work independently and with interdisciplinary teams to achieve shared program goals.
  • Commitment to building relationships with staff and families.

Compensation

22.62 - 27.56 per hour
